Air Ride Suspension
I have a accu air elevel management with a universal air kit that converted my bc coilovers to a bag-over kit. And I love it. Rides great. Was my daily till I sent it to the body shop

Cups only give a couple inches of lift

Ok good read, but they only talk about straight up bags and cup kits not airbags with coilovers. It said the cup kit was better for handling as it does not affect suspension geometry and handling characteristics. I've always heard bags weren't good for handling but great for ride quality. Is the bag over coil setup the best of both worlds, smooth ride, height adjustable and still handles just like coils or a cup kit with coils?
|
I like bag over coil set up because I get more dampening with my BC coilovers which I am still using with UAS bags over pretty much replacing my springs with a bag, they're comfy and nice to have handling I honestly felt more confident around turns with my regular coils but they still handle well, I've heard hit or misses with both people say cups break and aren't reliable then I hear bags aren't goo for handling ride like crap and blow so honestly got to find your own opinion I would rather choose bags because I can lift and raid the whole car higher than cups and I also have se ride heights and fast airing capability, need to be able to air up quick when seen a dip so I don't destroy my front lip
|
If you don't mind saying what did your setup cost minus the coils and install?
|
I can remember but you can hit up ravspec or my boy Viet Dang from Leveled and they can hook you up!
|
I've been looking around the bagriders site. Just wondering if I'm doing this right, looking to do the coilover bag setup. Other than the coils does this look like all i'll need? Sorry for bold and whatnot, I just copied/pasted my cart from the site.
FRONT SUSPENSION: UAS FRONT KIT FOR COILOVERS (-$656.00) REAR SUSPENSION: UAS REAR KIT (WITH AIR HOUSE 2 BAGS) REAR SHOCKS: NO AIR TANK: AIR LIFT 4 GALLON POLISHED COMPRESSOR: 444C (+$29.00) COMPRESSOR CHECK VALVE KIT: SINGLE SMC CHECK VALVE (+$24.50) COMPRESSOR SILENCERS: SINGLE COMPRESSOR SILENCER (+$60.00) POWER KIT: SINGLE COMPRESSOR POWER KIT (+$30.00) GAUGE KIT: DUAL NEEDLE GAUGE COMBO KIT (+$80.00) 1/4" SMC WATER TRAP KIT: SINGLE WATER TRAP KIT (+$30.00) |
sounds good I run dual fills my tank quicker but single will do just takes longer.
make sure you get all the fittings and lines too |
I didn't know what size hose for the water trap kit, what did you use? Did you go with a manual management, or the Elevel touch pad or ?
|
i went with Accuair elevel set up.
|
I'm currently working on going with Accuair e level and UAS bags and brackets for my BC coils.
|
I still can't pick between the cash saved going with switches or the coolness of the touch pad.

I am going stage 2 with the dual compressors, 1/4" lines/fittings, and touch pad. |
Can u "hide" the tnk in the trunk? Or will I loose all my trunk space? My Z is my DD, I don't carry much stuff but I don't want to loose it either

Is the general consensus that one 4-5 gallon tank is enough no need for two?
|
if you don't have a sub box in the rear, the whole system will fit in that section and you will still have trunk space. About the same as with a Zenclosure box.
KaienZ34, I saw what you posted on my wall and it looks like you slected all the correct items. To give you a heads up, if you order from accuair...it will cost you $2195. The bags and bracks from UAS should be about $1050. One 5 gallon tank is more than enough. I have 4 different friends all in PNW_INC with the following cars running just one 5 gallon tank: Nismo 370, 350Z, G35, and G37 Sedan. |
So it looks like the cost is about the same, I'm pretty sure the one I posted included the bags and all for 3150.
|
Yes, that seems pretty on par. I did compare the two and I do like what Accuair includes with their kit aside from the kit on bag riders. Plus I personally have the piece of mind knowing that accuair personally put out the kit and there weren't any corners cut on items like the tank and compressors. Another item that you will need, is the EXO mount for all the components to attach to the tank. Accuair obviously offers that and I did not see it on bag riders, but I may have missed it. That part is an additional $250 from accuair.

sorry for all these questions, new to modding and I don't know much about air systems lol , thanks for all the help :tiphat: |
That is a 5 gallon tank and yes, it is a pretty big system but fits in that area just fine. I for example will have not trunk, due to have a zenclosure box as well. But that is okay, bc it isn'y my DD or grocery getter hahaha!

|
have any of you ever owned a airbagged vehicle before? i would in no way ever want the compressors near me inside a cabin of a car. they're quite loud to be right behind your head. just saying from my experience running 2 viair's and dual 5 gal tank set up on my show truck in HS. i mean i do run straight pipes on my Z but thats different lol
|
The way CarbonFZ has his set up is exactly how I am doing mine.

you guys can opt for the 2 3 gallon tanks if youd like and get them to fit underneath the spare tire area. that's what I almost did.

my compressors were mounted to my frame of the truck with rubberm ounts. still heard and felt them. i will say i believe the ones i had were a little larger/heavy duty than the ones pictured. i was running all 1/2" valves so the air went quick lol |
yea they're not quite but not too bad I've heard ones that are just bolted on the metal trunk (I don't know who the **** installed that one) but that was super loud, I'm running 400cc compressors but its not bad I'm satisfied being on air.
|
I think i am going to run the dual 440 or the dual 400. It is pretty much a dedicated show car at this point, so the tank sitting in the trunk is a bit of a show piece. I am debating on the polished or raw. Thought about the raw and having it powder coated to match my wheels.
