OP, do you have a euro-spec Z? Their trims are different. Most euro-spec Z's, even with the upgraded "GT" package, do not get the upgraded Akebono brakes. Only the USDM

Most euro-spec Z's, even with the upgraded "GT" package, do not get the upgraded Akebono brakes. Only the USDM 370 abides by the Base/Sport/Touring package models, to my knowledge.
