Rusty mentioned in his thread that he didn't pay list price for his grille. I'll commit if we can get a good discount, group or otherwise on the ducts.

Rusty 02-10-2013 06:08 AM

I got the brake ducts from Nissan MotorSports. Phone 888-833-3225. You have to call them. They list for $612.00 each. So you need 2. A left and a right. Part numbers 41152-RTZ40 for the right. 41153-RTZ40 for the left. I used the Stillen brake duct kit too. That's an extra $200+. When I got my ducts. Paul StClair was there. He has since moved on. So I don't know what kind of discount pricing they have now. If they are out of stock. Be prepared for a long wait. :shakes head: Took 5 months for my grill screen to come in. I haven't done much with the Z lately, as I'm moving the GF into the house with me. So that is taking up TIME and money for now. :icon14:

I really would like to see if any one can make these.

:iagree:... group buy... Nissan Motorsports.... anybody???

UNKNOWN_370 02-26-2013 06:52 AM

You know what's sad. You can replicate Nismo parts to equal original quality, and still undercut nismo prices 20%-40%. It shows how weak Nismo products are.:shakes head:

the real NISMO ducts are dry CF... that is why they are expensive... no one on this site is going to make DRY CF ducts and sell them for cheap. so no, yu can't make the same quality

I would like a set as well. As long as it matches the NISMO grill or CF type, I'm down.

For you guys about to do this. This is just a heads up. The picture is of the right side, duct not installed. As you can see, there is the washer bottle, and power steering hoses. You don't have much room to route your duct hose. 2.5" hose was hard. The RC ducts take a 4" hose. If you don't reduce the hose size. You will have to move the washer bottle. If you got an intercooler with some of your piping in that area. Good luck, you will have to route your hose a long way around that stuff. ;) Oh, and the ducts take up about 5"~6" behind the bumper. If your air filter is in that area. It's another thing to think about.

One of the reasons I've been slow to go FI is the piping in that area on both sides of the car.

I'll just trim the back side around it,and if they don't fit,I'll scream then sell them on the forum:icon17:.

Baer383 04-24-2013 08:29 PM

Any updates?

Still very interested in these.

Pm Rusty. I'm pretty sure those are the part numbers from Nissan Motorsports. You can download their catalog.

What do you guys think about these? Do you think it would look good on the Nismo fascia?

CorSport: Exterior - Brake Air Ducts - NACA-020825

I think I would make those fit. Those look HOT! and not as expensive. The main thing is that there is a hole with a hose that runs to the brakes that makes them not glow in the daylight... everything else is just personal preference IMO. I vote for these here!

Another Option

Here is another option that has worked well for me. I am probably going to replace the hardware with some nice black painted stuff, but it looks ok for now. They have stood up to the track at Miller Motorsports Park at 130 mph. Let me know if any of you want any more information about them. They were only about $50.

scruffydog 04-26-2013 05:17 PM

I apologize for posting my classified in the wrong place earlier...i was looking all over why it didn't show up on the classified.

scruffydog 04-26-2013 05:23 PM

I know i'm not really offering any solution but I did end up making myself the Nismo replica brake duct from the turnkey and thought i'd share.

Here's how it looked.

I got the NACA Ducts at Summit Racing. They had to be bent a little to fit flush with the bumper, but they are pretty pliable. The screws are not really needed at this point as they are also siliconed in. I think these are the ones, they are actually 29.95 each.

How can you beat that price! I love the way it turned out too! How come you didn't use black rivets?

Thanks man! Yours look damn good too. Yeah for the price it is a really great option considering the ridiculous price of the Nismo ducts. I am still considering put some black rivets or screws in, still haven't decided whether I like the shiny silver screws or not... Everyone I talk to seems to think I should keep it as is.

What size hose you using? And how did you route it around the washer bottle?

I vote for the stock stealth look of black hardware.

Baer383 04-27-2013 09:34 AM

I hope downshift is doing something with these I need to get a set.
