Loose rear end...

Misalignment causes instability and poor traction, especially misaligned toe. Get it properly aligned and you'll feel a difference of night and day.

And yeah, if the toe is off, the car can be practically undriveable!

If the rear is really squirrely, I'd get the alignment done now and then realign if needed after the springs settle.
