so the inner socket should fix it?? because there's a weird pin-type thing poking out of the boot. Ive never changed one but can obviously i can just need to know if that's damage that is still fixable with the inner socket kit....

Hard to tell the extent of the damage from the picture. The pin may have pierced the boot from being bent, it also could have damaged the gears in the rack, hard to say.

heres a couple additional pics showing ya the impact. It broke the sway bar and ripped wheel off control arm, with the spindle
