keep us informed id be down for a red powder coated one!

SPOHN 03-11-2011 09:50 PM

You know what sucks about this mod. You have to have an alignment. You would never get the toe bolts aligned back perfect. But that wouldn't stop me.

Will do, will have the aluminum "finished" product mounted up monday so I can get pics and a how-to done. Right now I have the steel one I made for prototype.
Red seems to be the color most want, so I will def get some made in red.

As far as alignment I will look into that. What you said may or may not be true. I just honestly dont know for sure. I will get an alignment before install, and then right after to see if there is any change.

The lower brace attaches to the two toe bolts. Those are the same bolts holding/ connecting to the spring perch. You could mark the toe bolts before removing them. But toe is so delicate it wouldn't be spot on.

yeah i agree which is why i said i wasnt sure, but havnt really looked to see if there was a secondary adjustment or something else holding it in. They didnt move much when i put the prototype on, but like you said. the toe adjustment is so delicate you cant tell by just looking at it.

I need to do an alignment anyway for some other reasons so i will be able to report some actual numbers on how bad it effects it.

Kewl looking part. I of course have a couple questions. I own a vert so stiffer is better. I have the Eibach lowering springs and pro alignment kit being installed. My car is at the shop now having the pro kit installed so I don't have the car here to look and see exactly where you are talking about it being installed.Does anybody have a link that shows our rear end setup so I can see where everything is? You said it bolts where the toe bolts bolt on. Will this work with my setup? Reading the directions on the camber bolts it says that an area is die grinded out for fitment. If I do get one I would be intersed in red powder coated as my sways are red.:ugh2:

Yes it will still fit. I will snap some pics on monday/tuesday when doing the "how to" and everyone can see where it goes and such.

SPOHN 03-13-2011 10:17 AM

Here's a link for where it goes. Just click on the three pics there.

:tiphat:Thanks Spohn and Lazer I feel much more educated now. Still waitng for the call that my car is done to pick it up today. I'll ask them when I pick the car up what just a rear alignment would cost after installing the brace. Thanks again guys.

SPOHN 03-13-2011 11:45 AM

I'll probably pick one up anyways. I usually check my alignment every six months.

Fire 03-13-2011 04:42 PM

Just got my car home. All set and within factory specs. Thanks for the link Spohn I had to go to the shop to show them which link got replaced. There are two, one steel that is replaced and one aluminum that stays. They said that a complete alignment has to be done even if just the toe bolts are touched. I'm still liking this mod. Keep us posted lazer and look forward to pics in a couple days. I'm planning on tackling the canards, chin spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser this week. Still think I need a shop to paint and install the SS rear wing.

lazer_Z 03-14-2011 06:19 PM

just an update everybody...rain and my real job owned me today. tomorrow will be the day of alignment news and how to though! stay tuned!
