Looking to get some springs and I like the drop these two offer but just looking for thoughts on both? also need to know who sells them I know stillen sells the H&R but just want to see who else sells them and compare prices, and also who sells swift? thanks

Osiris 11-10-2010 08:23 PM

yo, Kami Speed sells the Swift springs....they're actually local here in Orlando. KamiSpeed

HATED1 11-11-2010 12:45 AM

I myself was deciding btw H&R and Eibach Prokit. H&R was too extreme of a drop and Eibach was not low enough. Luckily Swift came out with a drop right in the middle. Going with Swift in 2011.

ClemsonWill 11-11-2010 09:23 AM

I'm putting the H&Rs on mine here soon.

ZPhycho 11-11-2010 09:41 AM

after looking at some pics the H&R's look perfect, I'm trying to buy Hated1's that he has for sale right now just waiting for a PM back

Also would like to know which of our vendors sell H&R springs. Ready to buy :tiphat:

This might be a tough comparison. I'm sure the H&R is prob a tad lower and the H&R's are cheaper The thing is though if its performance then the choice is simple, Swift. I have 3 buddies so far that have swapped out to Swift Springs so far after sitting in my car. The Swift feel much more planted, and smoother on the road.
Here's my car on the Swifts.

Very nice! How much were they and where did you get them? Thanks.

HATED1 11-11-2010 01:03 PM

just curious but when you say more "planted" do you mean stiffer? From my experience with the H&R's they are def like OEM, maybe just a degree stiffer, which is a good thing in my book, because the oem springs were a little soft. For Daily driving i love these springs, but, just didn't quite go low enough for me. Im not putting Swift down as i am sure that they make a great product, just trying to put down more of a comparison.

tjlazer 11-11-2010 01:26 PM

I like the swift a lot. Maybe you can take a ride in my car at the next meet HATED1.

kenchan 11-11-2010 02:50 PM

CFZ- gets some wheel spacers! :)

wishihadnav 11-11-2010 03:02 PM

i'll probably be putting up my H&R's for sale soon as well...maybe some swifts or probably coilovers..

CFZ 11-11-2010 03:06 PM

This spring compared to the oem is also different. The oem spring to me, picked up all the little cracks and uneven surfaces on the pavement. It wasnt uncomfortable or anything but then when going around a corner the car would roll a good amount. The Swift springs is almost the exact opposite. They absorb all the irregularities of the road. They are really smooth on the road, but when you take a corner there is no body roll.

By planted I mean that the steering is more responsive and the car grips. It's completely level through the corners. The thing is when I purchased these springs I was really afraid of the spring rates because they are so much stiffer than anything else on the market. But they are more than daily driveable, in fact they are smoother than stock.

The only real problem with these springs is the price. they retail at 419 dollars, and I bought mine for 335 shipped.

I track my car monthly and so I am extremely impressed by the design and rates of these springs. So if you occasionally track your car and are not looking for coilovers. These are in my opinion, "coilover performance" lowering springs with comfort of daily driving in mind.

TJ- do you tracked or Autox at all?

thanks fo the input, i cannot comment on the H&R's as far as auto-x, but for DD and aesthetics the H&R's are great, no floatiness and a quicker response when turning.

No but I do plan on doing so in the future.

Zeester 11-12-2010 01:01 AM

The drop on the Swifts looks to be almost the same as the H&Rs, i was just wondering if there's any way to drop it a little more ?

In the STI world, we had these polyurethane top mounts made by Race Comp Engineering that would lower the car .375" without sacrificing any suspension travel. I wish we had a product like this for the Z...

Osiris 11-12-2010 07:23 AM

does anyone else have the Swift springs installed that can post pics? I'm just not liking the drop on these from the provided pics. Need more comparrison from other cars. More pics please!

ZPhycho 11-12-2010 08:28 AM

^^ I went with the H&R's, I'll have them put on in about a week you can come check those out so you can see what they look like vs. a picture

christian370z 11-12-2010 12:40 PM

I will post pictures when my Z gets lowered on the Swift springs I ordered. It will be with stock 18s though.

^^ hot! congrats tj. finally got it to where you wanted? :)

CFZ 11-12-2010 06:12 PM

yeah I agree the car looks good.

tjlazer 11-12-2010 07:55 PM

yep. Love it. Drop is 1" front and .75" rear

twotonezed 11-13-2010 12:24 AM

drop?

I thought the drop on the Swift springs was 1.25" in the front and 1" in the rear. Isn't that right?

HATED1 11-13-2010 12:58 AM

comparison shot of H&R's and Swift.

HATED1 pm sent :)

My mate need these springs!

christian370z 11-13-2010 12:09 PM

It looks like the rear drop between the Swift and H&R springs are almost identical but the H&R drops the front noticeably more. I like the balanced drop the swifts offer, the H&Rs look a little too raked for me personally.

CFZ 11-15-2010 12:55 PM

I went with the Swift only for the performance aspect of the spring.

370ZAttack 11-16-2010 02:21 PM

I like the Swift dropped better. Not to mention the greater performance.

please keep in mind that the tires in front are different in width when comping the drop, the wider 275/35/19 in front may affect the gap compared to that of the 245/40/19.

Thats true, but if you measure the rim to fender arch you can see the H&R's are indeed closer in the fronts than in the rear...

HATED1 11-16-2010 06:52 PM

yup i agree with ya there.

ArirangZ 11-19-2010 01:16 AM

I hear only good things about SWIFT and it is pricey.

Holliday 11-19-2010 09:25 AM

Spring cup mod for the rear anyone? HAHA!

HATED1 11-19-2010 12:19 PM

I see that there are a lot of views in favor for swift, which isn't a bad thing, but I would like to mention that h&r's are a good spring that go well with stock shocks. Many people on here have them and love them aesthetically. The only reason many switch is because many, such as myself go lower after several months of ownership. But for the price and having the lowest available drop with a slightly stiffer spring rate goes well with the 370z.
