Will these be comparable in performance with KWV3s?

A $350 spring will not be comparable to a $1500 + coilover.....

not to the kwv3 but paired with koni Yellows I would say these are better than cheaper ($1000) coilover setups

The Swift/Koni combination is hard to beat -- IMO. Coilovers are a pain in the neck for me as I do not track my car and do not need adjustable height. The Swifts drop the car just enough so that it is still civilized on the street. As far as dampers, everyhing pretty much pales in comparison to Koni.

Do you drive with your Sways at aggressive for daily? I want Stillen Sways but dont know what I should set me front and rears at?

Hey guys, new to the 370Z forum. I am about to buy some Swifts SPEC-R's for my G35 coupe. For those that have had the Swifts on for a good bit of time, how much wear and tear do they put on the stock shocks? On Swifts website, they said they recommend using high performance shocks, but its not required. Appreciate the feedback fellas!

- DM

Stock shocks will work just fine. Consider for replacemet the 2013 euro shocks.

thanks

Yep, just learn to go over them at an angle and will be fine.
Apples to oranges, cannot compare.

i am sure my question must have been answered but i do not have the time luxury to look for it. just a simple question anyway. thanks and the question is:

how long do we expect for the springs plus spacers to be installed if we let a shop do it for us? thanks!

wheee! 03-20-2013 05:59 PM

Spacers are a two hour job for a shop, another two for the Swifts... Or do it yourself in an afternoon and save a lot of money.... my:twocents:

Sounds better than the 400$ quote I got -_- from a vendor here

Wait but that's also to install camber arms so I don't know

Find a buddy with some tools and buy him beer in exchange for their use :)

corner3garage 03-21-2013 03:39 PM

Stock shocks with the swifts are perfectly fine.

If you want adjustment on the dampers Koni yellows are great, but if you want something height adjustable I would go with something like a KW V3.

The V3 are perfect for compression and rebound adjustment.

Thanks,
Mike

Bro try Fread Beans they are forum sponsor's here. Look for Jomer he is Pinoy and will give you a kababayan rate. I do buy all my stuffs with them.

I had my swifts installed in the shop for 2hrs,payed $250 to $300 with rear camber installed.

bmarcinczyk14 03-24-2013 06:40 PM

how come my swifts didn't come with that insulator in the middle of the front springs? It came just bare. Also, my installer put the oem spring jacket at the bottom of the front springs, is that correct?

/Angelo350Z/ 03-24-2013 06:57 PM

You're supposed to use the OEM insulators on the Swifts.

Yes.

yea but some pics im seeing the swifts come with some type of insulator already on them in the middle of the springs, at the point where the coils get tighter, mine was bare and had nothing in that area. i do have the oem insulators put on my swifts at the bottom of the springs though, is that the correct location for them? not sure about the middle insulators though, im pretty sure the middles are supposed to come with the springs.

When I got my Swifts I emailed them directly because mine did not come with the insulators and, like you, some of the pictures I saw showed the springs with them. The good folks at Swift told me that they stopped shipping springs with the insulators a couple of years back. Reusing the stock insulators is the way to go (or no insulators).

So before there were supposed to be 2 sets of insulators on the front springs, one being in the middle that came with it and the other on the bottom taken from the original springs correct? So now the newers ones are only supposed to have the bottom insulators like mine?

Sounds correct.

bmarcinczyk14 03-24-2013 07:45 PM

Interesting, did they just determine that the middle insulators had no benefit and stopped sending them with it?

That is the impression I got from them.

bmarcinczyk14 03-24-2013 07:56 PM

Well anyway here's my baby with the swifts freshly installed along with 20f 25r spacers! I'm loving it so far, noticeable difference with turn-in and ride! I'm hoping I'm close enough in spec w/o the rear camber kit once I go in for alignment.

bmarcinczyk14 03-24-2013 08:42 PM

One thing I've noticed and not sure if it's something to worry about, but are the "Swift" logos on the springs supposed to all be facing forward so when you look at the springs from outside the wheel well you can see the "swift" logo? on the front left it's facing forward when I look through the wheels at the springs but on the right side I can't see the logo, so I'm guessing it's facing the inside of the car. I can't see the logo on either the rears, anything to be worried about?

wheee! 03-24-2013 10:03 PM

I doubt it matters.

Ok cool, I'm a little OCD when it comes to that stuff and just wanted to make sure that all the springs don't need to face the exact same direction.

bmarcinczyk14 03-27-2013 07:24 PM

So my swifts (driverside front to be specific) are creaking when going into driveways and making slow turns...and my oem insulators are on the front springs. I'm going to take it back to the shop and have them look at it, maybe the front driverside insulator isn't completely covering up the coil allowing a little area to rub the strut?

bmarcinczyk14 03-28-2013 10:16 AM

Anyone else's swifts make creaking noises even with the insulators in place?

wheee! 03-28-2013 10:26 AM

Nope. Mine were silent from day one, same as the other two sets I installed for other people.... must be an insulator out of place.

Kabestro 03-28-2013 10:58 AM

Don't know if this has been asked before or not, but do you guys recommend the swifts for daily driving, or is the drop too much? I'm considering Swifts or Eibach, the roads in PR aren't that great to begin with, don't want to be scraping the car all the time.

wheee! 03-28-2013 11:38 AM

Swifts. Everyday, all day. amazing

I set up a appointment for them to look at it. He tried saying that sometimes lowering springs make noises, that's just what they do. He said his civic with springs makes creaking noises. But after hearing this I won't be satisfied until there are no noises coming from my swifts.

lowering springs should not make noises...especially quality ones like swifts.

wheee! 03-28-2013 12:55 PM

Make sure they torqued the suspension components back into place too....
