Is the slight rubbing from every day driving? That makes me a bit worried about my choice of 275/35 up front! Christian, I forgot what tire sizes you are running.

Cool! When I get home from work I'll finish with the rear and then take it for a spin. Im all beaten up from trying to get all of that done without an impact gun, specially to install new studs, remove the bolt that holds the shock to the lower control arm and to compress the springs, freaking nismo springs are hard! I went and bought an electric impact wrench and did the other side in 1/3 the time.. TOTALLY worth it! Anyway I will let you guys know how it turns out!

That is really big for up front. I think 265 is even big, I'd probably go 255. But 305 out back seems mightly sexy. Can't wait for my springs to be on next weekend!

The pictures should be showing up. It seems like the tire is contacting that little tab just slightly, although I wouldn't worry about it at all. If you really wanted, you could probably just trim that tab back slightly as it doesn't do anything really.

I have gone through the canyons once or twice so that probably accounts for most of it right there! I wouldn't be worried, it is very minor and contacts the tread well inside of the side wall so it wouldn't matter if you went with a 275 tire I think. You can always trim it off though, it doesn't serve any real purpose from the looks of it.

Just an FYI for any of you guys concerned with rubbing, I checked the tab that earlier posts mentioned contacting the tire and found some evidence of slight rubbing. This is not anything to do with the Swifts as anyone who is lowered will touch but here are some pictures:

Oh I'm rubbing on that tab already and I'm not even lowered yet. I'm running stock tire size up front too 245/40 but with 9.5 width wheel. I suspect it's been during some slightly aggressive driving or maybe some of the heavier dips on the road... but i'm not really sure

I just got my Swifts on friday and will be installing Monday, can't wait. :happydance:

Thanks, I can now see the photos. probabaly will wait and see if mine rubs on sport wheels, 245/40 Fr and 275/35 Rr and then trim if neccessary. Oh and I have 20mm spacers up front, so with all this talk about oversizing the tires and now throw in wheel spacers. I am gonna hold off on oversizing until I see a member photos with my same setup.

19"Sport wheels
20mm wheel spacers Front
245/40/19 tires

25mm spacers Rear
275/35/19 tires

Current springs - Eibach
Coming soon Swift Springs
1.2" drop Front
1.0 drop Rear

Oversizing tires on paper may look good on paper, just to find out I am screwed in the long run and have to down size the wheel spacers due to the 4x4 look.

Oh and let's not forget the possibility of needing upper control arms, because of oversized tires. Gonna play steady Eddie this round and keep to OEM tire sizes.

Are you running stock sport wheel tire sizes in those photos? Thanks, I appreciate your input and feedback.

I received my tracking number April 5th and tracking fro delivery Weds 4/13/11. I would call Sakuta or Billy on Monday. They probably just forgot to update thier website. Yours is going to Italy right? That could be the hold up on tracking as it's an international shipment.

You must have it in with KamiSpeed, for priorityshipping! Mine is on the slow truck in San Pablo, CA as of the 8th.

Now get them installed with some pics posted up.

Sure do, they got here Friday and are already installed :) While I was in there I installed spacers and camber arms. I'm letting the springs settle and will take it for alignment next weekend... Anyone knows of a good alignment shop in Houston?

cheshirecat 04-11-2011 11:37 AM

Getting mine installed @ Kamispeed Saturday morning. :D

Haha, well he wanted them sent out via USPS priority, he had to pay the difference though cuz we always ship out using UPS, sorry for the delay, we shipped out a couple from swift and then had a batch sent here to be sent out from here, all back orders were shipped last week on tuesday and wednesday so there should be no other shipments unsent, if anyone has a missing tracking number let me know and I will get that to you

ZForce 04-11-2011 11:58 AM

^No worries, I like saving $$ and my installer will not be back on the mainland until today, so Weds delivery works out fine. Now if I could just find the right tires to go with 20mm /25mm wheel spacers. I dread these days when I am the first with a setup and having to take a chance.

@Kamispeed, I have heard different feedback on the break in period before getting an alignment. Do you need some miles (100 miles) on the springs before an alignment or not?
