Its the spring rates, or in other words how stiff the spring is. The higher the number the stiffer the spring.

Spring Rate

Here's a link to convert to different numbers if you wish:

How did the racing go ?

Is BR 10/8 OK for street and 5-10 track sessions or should I go BR with custom 12/10k ?

M.Bonanni 03-31-2009 12:03 PM

The racing went very well! I have a short write up in the track/autocross section with a quick review on these coilovers. I will do a more detailed write up probably when I find some on track photos of the car :). You can tell a lot about how a car is handling in photos.

As for the spring rates, 12/10 was perfect! After a little dialing in on the track my compression/rebound was in the middle range which is ideal, leaving me room on either end of the spectrum for more adjustments. I would not go any stiffer than these spring rates and probably won't need to go stiffer until the car is heavily modified.

Wasnt to harsh for street ? I'm just debating on going 10/8 or 12/10 on the BR series.

I don't mind it on the street at all. Its no Cadillac, but its definately not near as harsh as it sounds like it would be.

I have a question with the New ER series... Can the remote reservoirs be lengthened to allow for under the hood adjusment and in the Hatch adjustment? Also if you had to name a nearest competitor for theses coilovers who would give them a run for their money(KWv3)? I have a track day may 17th and would like to have a good setup for a good price :D let me know what we can work out.

Unfortunately not, unless you were to make your own hose to replace the one that it comes with.

If I had to compare, I think I would put them more in the range of KWs for sure performance wise. I don't have a ton of experience with KWs, and to be honest, it has been a while since I have driven a car with them, but needless to say these BCs were very impressive for the price.

I work closely with goodridge so I was thinking of having them extended for ease of adjustment and even making a extension kit depending on how my set goes. I drove with KW's on my s2000 and dear Lord was it night and day! My KWv3's transformed the car into a whole new machine and the car was on rails from then on. I hope these BC's will do the same thing. :D

I am sure you will not be disappointed! :)
