Guys, look at this picture - good quality side shot with oem size wheels (the nismo looks like smaller wheels?). In this pic, the stance looks great, front and rear.

Zeester 08-11-2010 11:40 PM

If Swift can make these the same ride height as the H&Rs yet be stiffer, I would be all over these !!

Boost_lee 08-12-2010 12:29 AM

Straightened out the pics a little bit...

IMO the Nismo picture looks much better when it appears straight

^^^^^ To answer the question below, the quotes above are taken from a conversation with a Swift sales representitive. They should release the middle of next month. I did not ask about pricing but I will see if they will give me a ballpark or if they have set MSRP.

Swift actually goes out of their way to design their springs around the useable stroke of the shocks, so if the shocks lose too much stroke they will not lower it. They also dyno the shocks for every application to see what rates they can handle and for the 370Z they will be only releasing the Spec R's. In other words they pretty much found the highest rate possible the stock shocks can handle. The Spec R's are designed to be cheaper alternative for track guys (instead of coilovers), but extremely comfortable for daily driving.

They told me that the process for them to make the springs takes a while and is fairly expensive, this is why their application's for lowering springs is very limited. They only do one car at a time.

Very unlike H&R that just makes lowering springs based on the stock rates and stock design of springs, I do not feel that they do any kind of research around the vehicle at all. Like this thread....LOL

This just in.....

I just received a message from the sales rep that I have been communicating with. With permission, I am posting the body of the message:

"Hi Russ,

We have done a ton of testing on the 370Z and have made several prototype sets to finally get them made the way we felt was perfect. There are many springs out on the market already that drops the Z a good amount, this is the reason why we are only releasing the Spec R's. The Spec R's are performance springs in which we try our best to squeeze out as much performance we can with just the springs. There are many factors that we look at when we make the Spec R springs, the valving of the shock, the useable stroke of the shock, the suspension design, and the chassis balance.

With the help of several 370Z tuners in Japan which is where most of the racing circuit testing was done, as well as figuring out a stance in which the drop would be perfect and even. We have brought over several prototypes here to test the comfort levels of driving here in the states, From what we have heard and felt ourselves it is indeed more compliant than stock.

These springs can be used on both the Nismo and normal 370Z both with a good amount of performance increases. These springs were designed around the valving of the regular Z. We have found that the valving for this vehicle is fairly aggressive and so we were able to substantially increase the rates.
Thus making it a performance upgrade for the Nismo as well.

As for the price they are priced higher than other brands, we are targeting the people with performance in mind, as we do not feel that these are simple lowering springs.
We have set the MSRP for these at $419 for the 370Z Spec R springs. From what we noticed the selling price is cheaper and can be checked out with your local dealer when they are released.

We appreciate your interest in the Swift product And if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Best Regards,"

wishihadnav 08-12-2010 12:53 PM

these seem to be a good compromise between eibachs and H&R's..i have the H&R's and they are well lower than the advertised 1.3fr/1.0rr..

Philipp 08-12-2010 03:53 PM

Group buy?

If a forum sponsor does a group buy on these, I am in!

tbonesteak 08-12-2010 05:38 PM

so what's the official drop height??

LOL Good one! But, only if you install them upside down. :ugh2:

Zeester 08-19-2010 12:19 AM

So im assuming its safe to say that these springs will pair up nicely with the Nismo 370Z dampers ?

i would assume so.

CFZ 08-19-2010 10:35 AM

That's what they're made for.

Jeffblue 08-23-2010 02:53 PM

I'd be in if there was a group buy. should we start a list of people that would be interested in a group buy for these?

If we are, add me to it.

BeachZTT 08-23-2010 06:15 PM

I will see if I can't help make a GB happen.

I'm in if the drop height is like the black 370Z:

wasupdog 08-31-2010 02:41 AM

looks like a great product. i've never seen springs that were matched to the oem shocks. what's the plan though when the oem shocks wear out, buy another set of oem shocks? i'm assuming they will fail much earlier than normal since they'll be running lower than the oem spring setup.

Boost_lee 08-31-2010 03:20 AM

If a group buy can happen, I may be in also

then you get coilovers! :)

That was my thought. Run them till the stockers are done and then move to a coilover setup.

I haven't gotten any positive feedback from resellers regarding a GB. If any of you Sponsors are interested, it appears there may be an opportunity here.

jetguy 09-01-2010 04:21 PM

in it to win it

Jeffblue 09-01-2010 04:30 PM

updates on the release date?

370ZAttack 09-10-2010 02:41 PM

I used to have Swift Springs on my EVO. Best springs outthere FO SHO!. This will be my first 370Z mod; when I have them I will post pictures up. I pre-ordered mine through Kami:
Swift Spec-R Springs 370Z 08+

I will be getting mine next month. :)

tjlazer 09-10-2010 04:16 PM

Tempted. Damn these are gonna be harsh as fvck on the Nismo struts huh!

370ZAttack 09-10-2010 04:26 PM

Any lowering springs will reduce the life of the stock struts. However, Swift springs aren't as harsh as any other brand. They have a very safe drop and won't sag like Eibach, etc. This will give you a 1.25" drop on the front and 1" drop on the rear. The perfect springs for performance.

I asked for an update earlier in the week and haven't heard anything back. Got so busy that I forgot later in the week. I will follow up next week and let you all know if I hear anything.

370ZAttack 09-11-2010 11:03 AM

Release date in mid October according to Kami Speed. That's when they get there swift spring shipment

Boost_lee 09-11-2010 01:19 PM

Very tempting. If these come out looking anything like H&R's stance, then I'm sold

Zeester 09-12-2010 07:54 PM

Same here... patiently waiting for the full review + pics when these come out !

Philipp 09-13-2010 01:00 PM

If SWIFT Springs are willing to give me a good price on a set of their initial production I'll be glad to do a full review (install, pics, ride and road circuit feedback)!

tjlazer 09-13-2010 04:38 PM

I wish the regular swift springs were avail! .8 front and .6 rears.

tjlazer 09-13-2010 04:41 PM

I have a question. Since the OEM spring/struts are lower than the NISMO S-TUNE setup, I wonder if there would be a height difference with these installed on the Nismo S-Tune struts vs OEM. Nismo sits .5" higher than OEM so the drop would only be .7" lower than OEM... I might get these afterall! :)

Call Kami Speed and talk to Billy. I'm sure he can work something out with Swift.

Philipp 09-15-2010 10:31 AM

Will be calling Bill today. Just to bad these guys aren't forum sponsors...
