Corrosion on forward steering arms

Has anyone else noticed the corrosion and rust on the forward steering arms? Had the car up on the rack at the dealer yesterday changing a wheel, and looking at

Default Corrosion on forward steering arms

Has anyone else noticed the corrosion and rust on the forward steering arms?
Had the car up on the rack at the dealer yesterday changing a wheel, and looking at those asrms you would have thought I had this car 10 years driving it through salt, not the 4 weeks I've had it. service manager said not to worry. Any input??

I got it too. Their really rusty!! Not just in spots, but the entire arm. Hope its normal.

Just the tie rod....Looks to be cast where everything else is aluminum. Wire brush and hit it with some rustoleum if it's bothersome..

You could always paint them w/ POR15 or similar.

Thanks y'all that is exactly what it looks like. I was thinking the same thing with the brush and paint. Since I am throwin some camo paint on my ammo cans maybe I'll do the same to these.

If you really want to get them fixed...take them off and to a powder coater. Just make sure they don't touch the threads, and be sure to sand the jam-nut area flat/smooth so you can get things tight enough to not work loose.

You don't want to powdercoat those...The ball joints are part of the arms. 400 degrees of PC baking may not be good for them...

Default Rust on hubs

I took my wheels off for the first time yesterday and I noticed rust forming on the hubs and between the rotor and wheel. There was even some rust inside the center cap of the rear wheel. The thing is it only has 4500 miles on it and has not been driven at all this winter. Maybe it is a normal thing but it seemed excessive to me. Any insight?

Perfectly normal on unprotected cast iron. If you don't like it prep and paint.
