Base/Sport brake question.

Is it true that if you want to install mechanical lsd, you need the sidewalls of the stock vlsd? because that is what carbonetics website said. So can you install

Is it true that if you want to install mechanical lsd, you need the sidewalls of the stock vlsd? because that is what carbonetics website said. So can you install lsd with no sport package?
