Exclamation Coilover Play (Up and Down) in spring or shock

Hey Guys!

I've have a set of AMS coilovers, they are a few years old and am noticing some play (up and down) in the shock or spring when the vehicle is up in the air, the preload is set fairly high and dampening is about 75% stiff, this problem is reduced slightly at 100% stiffness but the issue is still present. I do not have this issue on the front and it is occurring on both L and R in the rear.

Can you please see the two videos below for a depiction of what I am experiencing. I have been getting excessive wheel hop and when inspecting the rear I found this, this is the only play I have in the rear end now.

For reference here is what my rear-end build is:
Z1 Toe Arms (less than 1 year old)
AMS Camber Arms (bushings replaced < 1 year)
AMS Traction Arms (bushings replaced < 1 year)
Energy Suspension Diff Bushings (bushings replaced < 1 year)
Eibach Sway Bay
SPL Endlinks

Thanks in advance!
Andrew

If you can, try and get a video of the mounting plate from inside the car. Is this on both sides or just the passenger side?

The spring looks like it is compressing smoothly, can only assume the issue is with the mount even though that doesn't look like the issue from the videos. It's just a common issue.

Did you install the coilovers yourself? IF so, did you torque the mounting bolts down after the car was set or when the wheels were in the air? Either case make sure the bolts are torqued with the wheels on the ground and after you've let the suspension settle.

Ok so it’s hard to see what your talking about in the video because I don’t see any “free play” but I’m thinking your saying it’s undamped movement? Looks like it’s topping out harshly? If I’m seeing that right then that would mean the shocks need a rebuild because they have an air pocket in them. Best simple way to check is pull the coil over and remove the spring and see how the shock moves.
