I would like to now this as well.

I mean if you throw some extra padding over it im sure it would mute it a bit.

Want to seriously cut down on the noise? get the Endo Tank CT AccuAir... it has the compressor built into the tank and its much quieter. I've got my endo ct tank exposed in the trunk .. so its not hidden or anything and when it turns on, you can hear it.. but its honestly nothing, its a low hum... even the guy who installed it was surprised at how much quieter it is compared to the other options..and said he wants to buy it himself.... now if you hide the endo tank much like in the picture, goodluck hearing it, esp if u play music or have an exhaust
