Default What is the 14' OEM Sport Brake Fluid

Hey guys,

After researching on why my brake light comes on after hard acceleration i noticed that my brake fluid was half full. I don't have a manual to my car which is why I'm posting here regarding what kind of fluid the stock sport brakes use.

Thanks

Stock fluid is DOT3. However, since you're in a 2014 and your reservoir is half-full, you might want to consider performing a full bleed, and switching to DOT4. A lot of members use Motul RBF 600 DOT4 in lieu of the stock fluid. Also, if your fluid is that low, I'd check the amount of wear on your pads, and replace them if there is little pad remaining. Otherwise, check for any leaks in the system.

Standard dot3/4 should be fine unless you plan on tracking the car and need the added benefits of a performance fluid. One drawback to the performance fluid is its more hygroscopic and tends to require more frequent flushes.

Check the condition of your clutch fluid too, if darkened or dirty, flush that out at the same time.
