I created this thread as a reference for those shopping for coils. I did not reference my engineering textbooks when describing the nature of dampeners.

If you're gonna try to make a sticky thread and call it a "bible" then it needs to be accurate and detailed. I'll work on gathering information but I'm surprised the mods stickied this already considering how little information you had before posting it.

2 will confuse some people but it's used in a metaphorical sense. In this case, the opposite of being enthusiastic would be a wet towel. In any case, please stop watering your cars.

Height adjustment:
PL: preload adjustable (height changed uses shock body)
NPL: no preload

Damper settings:

notes:
all coilovers are height adjustable...

dampers are either 1 way, 2 way, or 3 way. you listed many 1 way coilovers as 2 way. (EX: D2 Racing RS, BC racing BR)

Tein only offers 3 coil sets for the z34. 1 has no dampening adjustment, the others have one way.
