Check also that the urethane mount bushes have not moved and are still retaining the bar firmly.

Twas the lateral retainers of the Whiteline kit.

The bar's bushing had 1/2 inch of lateral play, hence the thunk.

Resolution:
Snugged up lateral locks and re-positioned the bushing. More gooder now.
