JDM Fairlady Z Reverse Fog Light

Straight from Japan, this JDM Reverse Fog Light removes the factory blank that was installed from the factory.

This piece is simple to install on its own. However, it will require some wiring knowledge in order to wire up the light so that it is operational. Originally this light is activated by a separate switch during Foggy conditions.

This is another great little piece to add a bit of JDM style to your 370Z.

$59.95

You may also choose to add a Z1 Motorsports JDM Reverse Fog Light Installation Harness that allows you to plug directly into the JDM Reverse Fog Lamp without the need of cutting up your 370Z's harness. The kit includes all necessary connectors and instructions to make your JDM Reverse Fog Light functional.
You may choose from the following options:

Short Length Harness - Designed to wire the Fog Light so that it functions whenever the Running or Head lights are functional. $15.00
Long Length Harness - Designed to wire the Fog Light so that it functions with either the Brake, Turn Signal or Running/Head Lights. $18.00
Basic Pigtail Connector - Used for people looking to create their own custom wiring harness. (Does NOT include instructions.) $12.00

can this be converted to brake light? does bumper need to be removed for the installation?

The Dimer 10-04-2011 08:41 PM

I believe you could wire it to the brake lights if you had long enough wires. I wired mine up to the license plate lights so it just comes on when the rest of my lights do.

And no, you do not have to remove the bumper. There is a diy on here somewhere on how to do it.

The Dimer 10-04-2011 08:45 PM

Here's a couple DIYs I found real quick. I used AK's when I did mine just to figure how to get the plug off. Figured the wiring part out on my own.

I bought the kit from Z1 that included the longer harness to wire to the brake lights. It's a pretty easy job and no you do not need to remove the rear bumper. You do remove some of the interior pieces in the rear hatch area in order to get to the wiring on the driver's side rear tail light.

ihatepotholes 10-06-2011 02:08 PM

payment sent for the fog lights with long length harness and stillen front lip.

sorry for my stupid questions. because im not sure how this light works.

does the fog light turn on everytime i turn on my headlights? or does it only light up when i brake?

im looking for something that works like a taillight. it lights up when i turn on the headlights and lights up brighter when i brake. am i making sense?

thank you

This is not a dual fillament setup which would be required to wire it the way you'd like. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Correct, you can set it up either way but not both.

If I want to have the fog lamp to light whenever I have my headlights on, I need the short length harness right??

Dustin@Z1 04-04-2012 08:33 AM

Correct. The short length harness will be your best option since it will wire directly into the Tag Light harness.

If you want to change it later on to work with either your turn signals or brake lights, you will need the long length harness.

So I am getting ready to order the JDM Fairlady Z Reverse Fog Light with the long length harness so that I can wire it up to my brake lights. Is the JDM Reverse Fog Light Installation Harness a different product that I would have to order, making there be 2 items in my cart for this one installation?

Z_Ryde 05-11-2013 06:16 PM
