As long as there are no issues with it I would say 3-4 weeks to finalize everything and get them into production.

I will not post pics of my design yet, We have already "copied" once before on a very popular shield. I've put a lot of time/effort/money into this shield and would like to try and get some of it back before they get Xeroxed.

Understandable! Well make sure to post when they are ready for sale. My money is ready and waiting!

For those anxiously awaiting the teaser pics...

Chris was kind enough to allow us to use his car for test fitting today so we made the 4 1/2 hour trip to Cleveland today and took him up on it. Thanks Chris!

Should not be long guys, Prototype fit amazingly well with just a few minor details to work out.

ZSpeed Performance 370z Nismo Aluminum Engine Underpan prototype.

That looks amazing! Are we gonna get the same vents and quick access door to oil pan/filter that the original has?

Yes on the oil door, It's in there but the rack is blocking it in the pic.
Vents will be added around the pan.

Ron 02-04-2012 09:04 PM

 I weighted my flywheel btw.. it was close enough to not swap it. Thanks Joe!!

zinistr 02-06-2012 08:43 AM

Great to see you, Joe. The part will definitely be a VERY nice add-on to the Nismos out there. Nice fit and clean look, too. Much better than the factory plastic shroud.

roplusbee 02-13-2012 11:54 AM

Joe:

Did Mike from Zerolift get in touch with you about my car? From what he told me, they are waiting on a few things and I wanted to make sure that I could jump on the opportunity while my car is still in OH. Thanks!

Rob

dmatt 02-13-2012 12:03 PM

Joe; count me in on the Nismo Aluminum Engine Under pan

Rob

I had called and he said they were too busy at the time.

I will need to test fit one more time once we make some of the minor changes we needed to make on it form the previous test fit in Cleveland.

I will let you know when the new proto is done and maybe he will have time then.

For the regular 370z? Its $199 with free ship and free hardware if you're a member here and $225.00 plus ship + hardware on the site if that is what you are referring to?

You are 100% correct! Sorry, I was incorrect and totally apologize. LoL

Good price then! I helped a member from my club install one and I was considering it for my 70... I'm gonna sub the thread...

Here is a pic of the one I put on for him

Joe@ZSpeed 03-09-2012 04:41 PM

Nismo is in process guys, The side panels are being a PITA to get good enough for me fitment wise, Not too much longer though, almost done I swear!

In the meantime I finished the work up on the V2 of the Regular 370Z Underpan.
I dropped the sump area down so it will clear bigger sways and give more clearance under the oil pan.

I think I may leave the Black powder coating off these, What is your opinion on this? I think the brushed aluminum looks really good!

The oil door will be on these also, left it off in most of the pics.
Also has the hole for the coolant drain so you don't have to remove the shield to drain the coolant either.

I see now, That's our older 350Z and G35 underpan. Those are a little cheaper than the 370Z as we get many more out of a sheet of aluminum than the 370Z piece.

Nismo221 03-09-2012 05:07 PM

Looks great, can hardly what till I can order one!

dmatt 03-09-2012 06:27 PM

Please leave the black powder coating off, it just looks great as is...

Not sure if I can with the Nismo version, There is a lot of work that goes into those and the aluminum will most likely get scratched up in the process of making all the different pieces. This weekend should tell me more. I was planing a charcoal or silver PC for the Nismo.

theDreamer 03-09-2012 07:03 PM

:excited: <----Ready to get the Nismo one so I can buy the Nismo front bumper.

EVOnomore 03-14-2012 06:29 AM

Thanks Joe.
Got mine yesterday.
Awesome quality and great looking upgrade !

klill001 03-16-2012 09:42 AM

Joe,
Where are we at for the NISMO'S???

Joe@ZSpeed 03-16-2012 12:42 PM

Should know more this evening, Installed yesterday and may make one small change. Overall everything is almost perfect.

FireDan50 03-16-2012 01:11 PM

Wow, I'm liking the newer version in plain aluminum...with no powdercoating, does that affect corrosion?

Powder coated will be better against corrosion, We have had these on 300zx's, 350z's G35's ect for years with no PC and no issues, Just wipe them down with spray wax or something similar when you change your oil.

3zworld 03-16-2012 04:28 PM

Ok...have a legitimate question and wanted to find out this before I think about buying one. What exactly is the major benefit of replacing the manufacturer's plastic (lighter) shroud ? I get that it may protect the oil pan better, but unless you are driving over rubble all the time or taking your car out 4 wheeling what would be the reason to swap it out ? Just playing devil's advocate on this as I was thinking about getting one but kept asking myself "why?".
