Stuff it! I reckon Stillen, as I would just be taking a gamble with the FI especially as I dont think I will get to see a vid with the right combo (18" resonator, original CAT) not to mention I think it a bit ricey/bling from the rear

Yeah Stillen for me

Yeah I'm leaning more towards the stillen now too. I've had a look at a few photos of the FI and it does look a little low in the back and ricey as well... it probably wont get down my driveway with the FI

So i'm most likely gonna get the stillen cat back and I want the berk HFC's

I think we most have different ideas of noisy LOL. At the beginning where he is just pulling away from the curb all you can hear is the engine/road noise. It's not till just before he gets to the Highway part that you can hear the exhaust and I believe thats only due to him putting his foot down.

So I would say just normal driving, there is bugger all noise and drone (as heard when on the freeway and shows the speedo). Then you have the bit when he hits the tunnels. The windows are down and drops a gear or 2, then guns it. Any CBE will be louder than stock, more so if HFC are installed.

As i mentioned before thats the great thing about all these options, there really is something for everyone. My other reason for my choice, is i will go down the "Forced Induction" route one day and the FI exhaust will benefit me there more so as well.

Hey evs', as above go for what you like. I just love the tone of the FI exhaust. Also as per my PM we could still go that route, as we would just be adding to the order.

Hey evse82,

This is the link to all their 370Z Products. Under exhaust it does appear they have the Stillen CBE.

Heres a link for QLD based guys for what mods can be done and what needs to be done HERE (PDF 546kb).

MrBMW
Can you elaborate on why the FI exhaust will better suit Forced Induction over the Stillen, as after coming out of a 350rwkw XR6 Turbo I may one day go supercharger or the likes.
Cheers

I'm thinking exactly the same order but let us know what they say about the CAI's.

I am calling them tomorrow to book in my 1000km service, so I will ask as well. I'll ask if they will install the parts themselves and sign off on the warranty before hand. I know the manager so I will get a straight answer.

Yeah awesome, let me know how you go with that too... I'll be happy paying a little extra to get it installed at a dealer if they put down in writing that it won't affect the warranty!

If not, we can take it to where i took my 350, he was really careful with installing the exhaust and a bit of a perfectionist too... so i'll trust him with the 370

Hey there AH370Z. My reasoning behind that comment (also coming from previous FI cars), is that the F.I. exhaust has a straighter path with less bends in it's design. Also, even if it's a little LOUD now with the RTP's i'll also see a greater gain down the track when I go Turbo/SC (most likely Turbo) and it will generally quieten a bit also. Tony from F.I. also went through this also with another member in his thread. Again nothing against the Stillen as that will still be a good exhaust.

I'm looking to put in my order towards the end of next week sometime. If we want to add stuff to the 3*G3 Intakes let me know and i'll fire off some more emails to get prices etc. I'll send him one now to see if there will be much difference in shipping to one Address or splitting the order State by State. Just so there is no confusion, this is for the STILLEN/Berk stuff from Import Parts Pro or their Vendor Section.

It would be good to know what the Service Manager will say. Generally any Add-On will void the warranty. Depending on what's affected that is. Say your Power Seats stuff up, that wont get voided as the Intake will not affect it. If it was some internal engine issue, now thats another story.

I would be than happy as well to get the dealer to install, albeit as long as the premium isn't TOO high for the install. I would wont that writing signed by a Judge though LOL. I have a few others I can take my car too as well that I trust.

So if parts a wanted through Import Parts and are happy with me organising it, PM what you want and i'll email them to get prices (shipped to QLD and or VIC).

Re parts install and warranty sign-off - I'm still waiting on an email reply from the manager at Blackburn but I'm going in on Wednesday for my initial service, so I'll speak to him in person.

Cool, well let us know how you go, I'm not sure if their email addresses are correct because it looks like Blackburn haven't updated their contacts page in ages.. I once tried to email the service dept. but it bounced back.

I got a reply in writing when I went in yesterday for my service. I know the manager so I had his business card. He couldn't reply direct as he is in sales not service, so it was passed on to the service manager for his response.

The response is summarised to this -

The car is yours so you can fit any part you like and it won't void the warranty directly. However, if a part is fitted such as an exhaust which is known to burn out the exhaust valves, we may not warranty the engine in the event of failure. If the windscreen wiper motor failed, this would still be covered as an exhaust modification is unrelated.

It all means that they hold the right to reject a claim that can be linked to the modification, but unrelated failures will be covered as expected. Fair enough I guess.

The sales manager then said, "we are by the book on this stuff but it's up to you if you want to take the risk. Plenty of guys bring in modified Nissans which is fine"

I think I'll wait another few months before modding it though as I want to ensure everything is well bedded in case a warranty claim is needed.

I also asked about getting the 19" as a special order and maybe even the Nismo 19" which he said is possible, but would have to confirm. I'll email him on that now.
