Has anybody taken the number plate mount off and srewed the plate directly onto the front bar. I was told you couldn,t as there is a issue with the air

Has anybody taken the number plate mount off and srewed the plate directly onto the front bar. I was told you couldn,t as there is a issue with the air bags.
