Mythbusters: Does the Aus 2010 coupe come with 19"s?
Hi all. I have heard and have read that only the roadster will
get 19"s. What worries me is there doesn't seem to be any proof of 19"s coming for our 2010 coupe. I can't find any definate proof on the net and even a scan of the latest brochure direct from Nissan yesterday shows me that only the Roadster has em. Has anybody got undeniable proof that there will be 19"s for the coupe standard, or has this hope just spawned from rumours and heresay? Any proof would really make me feel better... |
Hi, I'm adding a comment to spark some interest.
My comment is as follows: No, not yet. All we know is that some people have ordered with the 19's but that's just dealer talk so far. Even though they probably are, Nissan hasn't released anything down on paper. When they do, I will curse them and hope they all suffer a scorching case of herpes. When they get down to their last herpe I'll then hope they get another 4. |
No indisputable proof as such, but was at a dealership on the weekend and the salesman said that the 2010 coupes were coming with 19's. Until we get someone take delivery of a 2010 coupe I have a feeling that this will stay a myth that is plausible....

Shouldn't they have it on their paperwork?? I mean, since that's what the dealers are telling them to make the sale... |
Just make them put that as a special condition on the sale of car contract... I'm sure they'll go to greater lengths to make it happen if there is commission riding on it, rather than just plain dealership lies.
|
I find it suss that the specs say 18" for the coupe and some dealers are saying they will have 19". Usually the dealers know less than we do about the car and usually just refer to the specs. Who do you believe - some dealer or official specs? I know if I went to my dealer today asking about the wheels they would just refer to the specs.
My advice for 2010 coupe buyers is to make sure 19-INCH wheels are specifically written into the contract if that's what the dealer says is on offer. That way if in a few months you get your Z coupe with 18" wheels your dealer will be in trouble for giving false information and you will get your 19s :) |
:iagree:
But I did say this a few times, I was told by my dealer the coupe has 18" std and you can buy the 19"'s (at parts prices) and have them installed. Which I guess supports the new Nissan brochure. |

Aus = Australia. Now I know

Hey thanks. Normally I don't think much of rims that come with the car. But I like these enough that I find myself needed to get different ones
|
I'm 100% sure but can't prove it due to confidentiality.
A bulletin has just gone out to the dealers informing them of the 2010 April cars with 19". |
I guess we wait and see what happens

Wouldn't you think Nissan would have updated their website though already If they are coming out in April? pretty slack (not debating they are coming out, I think they are) |
Nah the bulletin has just gone out, so the dealers will be finding out this week. Before this, there's no point talking to dealers as they are the last to know.
I also don't think the wheels will come in on their own, so we won't be able to buy them cheap. The only option will be an upgrade to a 2010 or wait till guys sell the 19" on ebay. It sux to be us 2009 buyers! |
My dealer said they could get me a set of wheels on their own.

I said they'd get them not that I'd pay that much for them.

$4768.86 No tyres. (price includes mass loss of dignity and self respect)

At the moment the best deal is buying used from the US guys here. Maybe our market will see a few used sets, but the value may still be high as they are rare. My advice to all new buyers is to wait a little bit longer and you'll get em on both the Roadster and the coupe. Get it in writing on the order. |

So what would be a fair price that we'd all pay for a set of 19" Rays ?

You could get a little biz going by importing the 19"s :) |
I'm glad i'm not the only one bitter about the 18s :P It's annoying because i'll probably not bother getting 19s now because it just doesn't seem worth it.
I might only keep the car for 2-3 years then get something else. But then again, there's not that many good cars on the market. |
Thats what i said and noticed other then the GTR I dont want anything...so my plan is the GTR..but by the time I have the cash..its probably as common as a VT commodore.

My friend just picked his Jan 2010 build and March compliance ....., no 19". His car comes with 18". I dont think Aus 2010 Coupe will get 19"!!!
Unless Jan 2010 build still considered 2009 model...., because I read it some where in this forum, someone said March 2010 build will be the 2010 model :icon14:  is this true? |
Quote:
The car from my original order was built in February arrived last week has 18". |
Double agree to the above. The coupe I saw at the dealership on the weekend was a Jan 2010 build with 18's
