I have the PDX 600/5 and is loving it. I never owned the JL 500-5, but honestly, I went for the PDX mainly for the size (the JL is huge).

I have the PDX 600/5 and is loving it. I never owned the JL 500-5, but honestly, I went for the PDX mainly for the size (the JL is huge). Its perfect for my small setup. If your heart is set on JL and space is a concern, then JL HD 900-5 would be the choice. Its the same size as the PDX...however, depending on your setup, 900w might be an overkill.
