Is best buy great at installing car stereos?

I wouldn't let the guys at best buy clean my windshield, much less install something.

They'll charge you Z tax, and they're hit and miss. (I'll edit with details in a min)

It's hit and miss. A lot of good guys have gone on into the big stores because of specialty shop no longer in the market. I know a couple just bored out of their minds and when opportunity to do really good custom jobs, they welcome it. Sometimes well below what they should be charging. Unfortunately, there are lots of newb guys too so you must do some due diligence.

I worked for them in my area for about a week, I left after that. No care on panels having races to see who could get their door panels off first, and but or crimp connectors instead of my preferred solder and heat shrink.
