Help my Zen sub box is too small for my sub

What could i do to get this fixed? The diameter is 12" it fits fine. BUT THE DEPTH IS NOT DEEP ENOUGH !?! >__< im 1-2 inch too short! Should

The diameter is 12" it fits fine. BUT THE DEPTH IS NOT DEEP ENOUGH !?! >__< im 1-2 inch too short! Should i just use 12" spacers? A shop told me to trash that box and have him make a new one... what do you guys think!?
