if anyone's on a mac, you can download Tagr (free download) to add your tags including album art. |
for today i need to figure out what this DB (data base) button is doing and how to register the Favorite page.
i turned off the BT music stream and Pandora unless plugged in cause i didnt want to drain my phone's battery while in my pocket. |
Check out Pioneer's webpage:
DVD Receivers | Pioneer Electronics USA Lots of videos on there on the different features. For some reason, they have alot of them attached to the AVH-X2500BT page, but for the most part they are general information that applies to all the units. Here is the AVH-X2500BT video page: AVH-X2500BT - <b>NEW!</b> - 2-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver with 6.1" WVGA Touchscreen Display, MIXTRAX, Bluetooth®, and AppRadio Mode for iPhone® | Pioneer Electronics USA See the "Playback USB Content" video about the DB button |

When a cell phone is on its in constant contact with your providers network. The average cell phone will ping the closest tower every 15-25 seconds. You will sometimes notice this delay when you call someones cell right next to you and it will ring on your end but not on theirs for several seconds. That is because their network is first trying to locate the phone where it last saw it and waiting for the response. Because its doing all that work all the time you will sometimes feel your phone getting hot while its deep in your pocket. If your streaming Bluetooth at the same time you're going to kill your battery. Also if you keep your phone in your pocket it might cause it to roam which will use even more power since its not looking for its native network and must communicate more with the alien network as well as continue to search for towers in its own network. So the moral of the story is take the phone out and put in the cup holder or somewhere out in the open away from your body and you will not see a terrible loss in battery while streaming. |
thanks for the tip...but in a car, i dont know when i might get into an accident where the phone might fly out of the cup holder somewhere where i wont be able to reach.
so this is why i prefer to have it in my pocket. :) now if my pants flew off in an accident, then oh well... :icon14: im on my own.... |

Hey kenchan
Since you have a Pioneer unit like mine I have a question.
On the drive home was I was running the WAZE app on my phone. I noticed if I had Pandora running, or selected Bluetooth Audio on the Pioneer unit, the WAZE instructions would come out of the car stereo speakers. However, when I had the Radio or USB selected, the WAZE would not cut into the music and come out over the car stereo speakers.:shakes head: Is that a limitation of the unit, or do I have some setting wrong? I need to do a test tonight with making a phone call to my cell phone while I have the different functions up and running on the Pioneer to see what is happening. |

Yes, I have Android also (Droid Bionic). WAZE App is available for Android and I have been using it for the past 4 months (Actually found out about it on this forum). Just curious why the bluetooth audio from it will take priority (turns down the music) while running Pandora (or Bluetooth Audio) but NOT if I have the Radio or USB function running. I am pretty sure an incoming phone call will turn down the source regardless of what function the Headunit is in (still need to test this)

ok, i dont like visiting this thread any more cause each time i do, i feel stupid. :icon17:

You're hearing it because its overlapping on that same generic bluetooth audio streaming channel which basically sends all audio coming out of your device (with a few exceptions). It's normal for you not to be able to hear it through the car speakers when the head unit is set to another source. You can, however, make both your phone speakers and bluetooth speakers output the sound if you want. The way to do that differs based on your phone's build of Android, but usually there will be a little settings icon next to the popup window that comes on your phone as you turn the volume up/down. |

When a call comes through the head unit WILL pause/mute all other functions to allow the call to come through since the head unit sees this as a function change and not an audio change. Make sense? :icon14: |
