I would return the adapter and exchange it for another one to see if that works. Thats what happened to me at first. I think with Apples recent updates on

I would return the adapter and exchange it for another one to see if that works. Thats what happened to me at first. I think with Apples recent updates on the phone I noticed that now I can control all the music from my phone and navy screen. Before the Iphone 5 would say something like "connected to player" and you wouldn't have the freedom of doing that. So now you can have the best of both worlds. Let me know how it goes.
