Default Amp advice

I'm looking for some help from all you audio geniuses. I am putting together an audio setup in my z convertible and need to know what amp I should be getting.

Here is my setup so far:
HU-AVIC X940BT
Frt & Rr speakers-Kicker KS600

I will be putting in a single Rockford P1 8" 4 Ohm woofer between the seats.

So, the question is, what amp(s) should I run?
The Kickers say peak watts-195 and rms watts-65. The RF sub says peak watts-400 and rms watts-50-200. Should I run a single amp to the four Kickers and a single to the sub or should I run one amp to all 5? I'm not looking for some vicious setup, just something much better than the bose that was in there.

Thanks for any help, I'm ready to get this in soon!

since space is most likely a problem, you could get a good 5ch amp...brand is an ongoing debate, so i wont even mention any. but look for something that has at least 50rmsx4 and 3-400 rms for a sub, since your sub is 4 ohm, the one problem you'll have is the 4 ohm sub, most 5 ch amps need a 2 ohm load to make reasonable power, but with 3-400 at 2 ohm, 4 ohm power sould be ok for the 8" you have.

I'd recommend upgrading a few things if your going to add an amp.

Upgrade to polk speakers, they will give you a more solid sound than kicker.
Upgrade to component front speakers and take advantage of your stock tweeter location for your new tweeter. The polk db's are a direct fit and you can easily fit the new tweeter in the factory location.

A 5 channel amp I agree with, alpine makes a great one as does JL. I prefer the alpine over Jl though. The PDX5 is the old version, the replacement is the PDX-V9.

No matter what you run you will have to adjust your gains on your new amp, so do not worry so much about the RMS wattage as you can adjust that.

90 ST and BAF, Thanks for the suggestions. I'm thinking about putting the amp in with the cover area where it stows when the top is down. There is actually a lot of room in there and I think that's where the current amp is. If I go with the polk speakers up front, is there any issue going with the kickers in the back? I'm thinking that the back speakers are little more than filler anyways. Also, if I go with a 5 channel, is there any issues with going with four 2 ohm speakers and one 4 ohm sub?

I know enough to get myself into trouble, but am really looking forward to learning more on this project. Thanks for the help

No issues with going with different brands. Where are you getting 2 ohm speakers from? The polks and kickers are 4 ohms. A 4 ohm sub will be good as well. I happen to have worked on a convertible Z. If you pull up your trunk floor, their is a nice opening for an amp to sit. Might want to look into that.

BAF,
Got the 2 ohm from my own ignorance. You are absolutely correct...

Already pulled all of the foam out of the truck and will soon be putting in some fiberglass reinforced carpet to make it look much better. It saves a TON of space!!

Are you saying the Polk db5251? Is it a 5 1/2" hole?
