iPhone 5 and DNX9980

Has anyone tried the iphone 5 with the new adapter with the kenwood dnx9980. There are many conflicting ideas about what will work?

Standard ipod control should work, but other than that not much info is out as far as I know. "Android user"

I have read that the iphone 5 works fine with the Kenwood DNX9990.
( No Video)

Not on Bluetooth want change songs and doesn't display song but does play

I plugged a regular apple charge cable into my USB input on mine when it was in my Z and it worked fine, recognized it for ipod playing and functioned charging as well.

It's been an issue with most aftermarket head units. IOS 6 and the fact that Apple changed the connection adapter set most companies reeling back to fix the issue.`
