Default Warning! Dealercostcaraudio.com

I made the unfortunate mistake of placing an order with these clowns. They have great prices but they don’t want to send out your order. I ordered an Alpine IVA-W505, JL Audio 13TW5, JL Audio HD600, and a set of JL Audio C5-650 Components for a total of $2021.98. Not a bad deal at all. I placed this order well over a month ago and I called them after 2 weeks. They told me that Alpine was holding up the order as they are behind in production. They told me it would ship out in one week. I found out later that this was a lie. Several other vendors such as Crutchfield don’t seem to have this problem nor did they confirm that Alpine was behind. 2 weeks after still no order so I called and told them to delete the Alpine head unit and send the rest of the order. They did neither after 3 days. I kept after them and sent email after email promising to ship my order. I canceled my order and I got no reply. I called them and no answer. I called my credit card company up to do in inquiry and reverse my charge. I emailed them the preliminary letter and they finally sent me a order cancelation notice. I did a search on these guys and there are tons of complaints with this same situation. Evidently they have some kind of shady way of getting the equipment cheap to resell so they hold up your credit card until they source your stuff. Some people claim they got used or refurbished stuff that got damaged in shipping.
Granted this wasn’t my smartest move but we all look for good deals so I bit on it. Just passing this along so none of you have to go through this crap. Don’t fool with these clowns, their crooks.
Here are just a few of many complaints on these guys.

I personally have used sonicelectronix.com for all my car audio adventures. They are great!! Good customer service, great prices and quick shipping. I have sent a few guys to them and made other posts about them. No one on here or anywhere else has had a problem, that I know of.

Sorry about your luck. However you picked some awesome stereo equipment. I actually plan on using the exact sub and amp set up you purchased. Those JLs sound amazing!

Thank you, I have always been pleased with JL Audio equipment. I have never before used thier component sets and I am torn between the C5-650's and the ZR-650 set. the ZR set is almost twice as much money. Has anyone here had any experience with these sets?

I have 200 sq ft of sound deadning material to be installed throught the car. The road noise drives me nuts plus the doors have a lot of resonance. I am having a shop do it since i am just not comfortable with taking the entire interior out of the car. I dont want to break anything which I would likely do. I will post pics of my install on here to share.

i used them once too and made them cancel the order which they did relatively without complaint. I ordered a subbox from them a week before I ordered anything else. I had everything installed and two weeks after that 5 weeks from original order it still had not shown up.

Update! - these guys found my post on here and made some lame attempt to defend themselves.
"We are not "crooks" we accept credit cards. We have over 30,000 transactions per month yad yad yada. We have been around since 1980 and we are authorized this and that.

Whatever! These guy's so pissed me off.

You get what you pay for. I will stick with Crutchfields from now on. They would never pull this kinda crap on us. They at least let you know when something is backordered.
