Before I added them, I felt like there was dead air behind me. Now that I added them, the cabin is filled with sound without having to crank the volume way up. It just depends on your listening style and for that matter, music styles enjoyed. I don't think the rears do much for rap and pop music, but for jazz, blues, etc. it adds quite a lot of depth.
