As far as I know, there is no illumination lead running from the head unit to the ac controls... they should have their own feed. Could the bulb have burnt

As far as I know, there is no illumination lead running from the head unit to the ac controls... they should have their own feed. Could the bulb have burnt out? My Mazda had several cluster lights go out over the years.
