Can't get head unit to dim with instruments

Additionally noted: when installing my steering wheel adapter kit my wire color codes on the OEM connector matched the vendors color codes for the 2009 Z not a 2010 Z

Additionally noted: when installing my steering wheel adapter kit my wire color codes on the OEM connector matched the vendors color codes for the 2009 Z not a 2010 Z even though the factory radio was date marked as April 2010. So perhaps I've got a 2009 harness.
