Sundown's SA-8 is an 8" and good for high SPL
Polk Audio MM840 is very good SQ for the money (I have 2 of these and highly recommend)
JL Audio makes an 8w7 which is very good for both SQ and SPL. They also make an 8w3. Both are a little pricy
I have to check on the Sundown Sa-8 and the Poll Audio subs.

I already aware of the JL Audion subs. The 8w will not fit in the 370Z foam piece area but the 8W3 will but as you indicated they are pricey for what you get!
