evo4G/headunit issues

I cannot figure out how to get my HTC evo 4G to talk to my Pioneer AVH4200DVD headunit. i can get an iPhone to work through the USB but not the evo..... headunit will say incompatable device....?

any ideas?

Are you trying to pair by the phone discovering the head unit or the head unit discovering the phone? Try it both ways.

not through bluetooth, USB.

Probably not able to locate anything because the droid phones have to "sync" or dock to a computer and the head unit is not that. I could be wrong.

Try mounting the phone when you plug it in...make sure your SD card on the phone is FAT16 or FAT32 formatted...then let us know.

I would contact Pioneer then. Pretty useless then if you ask me, since I'm an Android user as well. But I guess you could still hook up a portable HD to the USB. Let me know how it works out so I'll know for future use. If I ever change out the headunits, I will likely get a Pioneer as well.
