avic-z130bt sound quality!

I just installed an avic -z130bt unit to my 08 rubicon (jeep), my factory system sounded great (infinity). the volume could go up really loud and sound clear. After installing

Default avic-z130bt sound quality!

I just installed an avic -z130bt unit to my 08 rubicon (jeep),
my factory system sounded great (infinity). the volume could go up really loud and sound clear.

After installing the in dash my sound quality sucks, it only goes up maybe half as loud and shounds like crap!

please help.

I'm gonna take shot in the dark and say that the stock system probably had a separate amp (like the Bose in the 370). If you don't have the proper connector, the amp isn't turning on and you're probably getting completely un-amplified sound.

The above reply is correct, you are probably sending them factory amp a already amped signal and that is making the music distort.

Try searching crutchfield and seeing if there is a factory premium adapter, 9 time out of ten there is. Usually looks something like this.

Harness Adapter Chrysler Jeep Plymouth 1984 >05#70-1818 on eBay!

notice the rca adapters.

You may have better luck looking on a Jeep forum and finding out the specifics on that particular infinity system. Chances are it's much like the poster above described.

Sense I have worked on many different cars I have no problem giving my advice about any car that is asked about.
