Default upgraded speaker for track car

Hey everybody im looking at upgrading the door speakers. After talking with a few shops, + bigaudiofan, and have decided not to do the rear speakers. Most likely i will remove them since they're not doing anything and i fear they would only hurt the audio quality. Right now the only purpose of adding the speaker and HU is to make it to and from the track.

At the moment i have no plan for a sub so my first question is do i really need an AMP for just 2 speakers? sorry for the noob questions this is my first set in to the home audio gig

Most importantly im trying to decided on the door speakers. Here are the 2 im thinking of right now. If you guys have another ideas on which speakers feel free to chim in

This is the set of JBL's, which i havent been able to listen to yet
https://www.woofersetc.com/p-1181-c5...nt-system.aspx

Or a pair of Rockford Fosgate which im going listen to later next week
Rockford Fosgate® - T252-S

last but not least is alpine imprint worth it with out rears or sub?

Looking forward to your input

I'd check out the MTX TX6 also.
As for the imprint, it depends on which deck, but the feed back i've gotten is mixed for the older decks, and yes on the newer ones due to NO bass and Treb control without it.

If you have the Bose stereo, you will have to make a 6x9 to 6.5 plate, takes about 30 mins, and then it goes in like a glove. I have pics of mine in my album.

No, that means 6.5's bolt right in. The Bose gets you a 6x9 up front that you have to make a plate for.

Yeah i used 2 boxes of our 3mm Streetwires damping, at 25lbs per box, and about 1/2 box of the 1.5mm stuff, about 25 lbs per box.
I'm a bit old school with damping, and i'm on the hwy with the car alot.

Sound good for me, im not even going to add 20lbs.

Do you have any suggestions on an amp? im not really sure what features add value. The one that matchs my speakers is in the link below, but it kinda seams like it might be overkill for my limited setup

If it's just to go back and forth to the track i wouldn't worry to much about an amp, but if you do want to add an amp look for something around 50 watts RMS per channel and small enought to hid away. Just stick to major brands (an MTX RT602 would be my choice, but i work for them )and you should be fine, expect to pay about 200 min for one.
