I don't use the 4inch? Don't I need those to get a full sound? Like someone said 4inch in the dash 6.5 inch the doors and tweets in the pillers?

Sounds like it might just be easier to get the polk sr5250,s and run that set. The 6.5 are discontinued now.I can sell the diamond 4inch and 6.5 inch, use that money to get the polks.then the amp can run the tweeters and the mids and the system should be full.

I just noticed you don't have the deck yet, get an Alpine with 3 way X over capabilites, as long as you have 5 channles of amplification...

You can put the tweeters in the A pillars, but we're talking some custom work.

The Diamonds are nice (so are the Polks you mentioned, but if you've got the Diamonds, I'd use them instead!); since you've got the 6-1/2" midbass and the tweeter, check to see if those drivers are the same used in the set. If so, changing out the crossover will be all that's needed. Unless you VERY sure as to the parameters of the xover used in the 4-1/2" set (xover point, slopes, impedances, etc.), I'd call Diamond first. This way would save you the most $$$ and get you kick-*** sound in the end.

The 9887 is what I have and is a great unit the 117 can so it as well but I think the 9887 would do a better job. You will however need the H100 to go active with the 117 but I think it would be a newer better choice.

I'm not 100% that you need the Imprint unit to go active, just to do a full tune, which i've had mixed respondses from Alpine dealers.

The sr's are great I am thinking of running them in my next car when i get it. I would just run them at full as there crossovers are pretty well built.

Speakers are speakers in this case, we, the company i work for, have a 6.5" add on mid bass also but it's the same 6.5 add on as our 6.5 set, it's just a different X over.

oh i see.Maybe i can just use the crossover from the 4inch set if i decide to not go active. I am not real good at this stuff that's the only reason I wouldn't go active.

The Xover points with the 4" xover will be different then with a 6.5" set, thus needing to go active with what you have.

Using a crossover from one set of speakers on another set is a bad idea. You can damage the tweeters and or woofers if they can not handle the sam frequencies as the old set.
