First I would like to Thank bdl99(Brian, I guess) for creating this thread.
I tried the DIY solution following the diagram provided by Brian: https://docs.google.com/document/pub...dJDtKoKnP54Qfs I'm using a SPDT slider switch, when the switch is on one-end position, everything works like normal(watching movie with e-brake on, GPS acts normal), however, when the switch is on the other position, the GPS gets no signal as expected, but it wont play video on screen, the reason is the system doesnt get e-brake signal. I followed the wiring diagram as shown here(with DVD and Nav override): https://docs.google.com/document/pub...dJDtKoKnP54Qfs My question is: where should the PIN65 grounding wire connect to? Thanks in advance for any help! |

You mention SPDT, is that for just the parking brake switch? You need either: 1 x DPDT or 1 X SPST (for speed) and 1 x SPDP (for Parking Brake) The reason for this is with the speed sensor you are just making or breaking the connection where as with the Parking Brake you are making or redirecting the connection. In my diagram I show using a DPDT switch. Hope that helps. |

I redirected the Parking Brake connection by connecting the Ground wire to the metal next to the Parking Brake lever(please see image No. 3), but it doesn't seem working. Where would be the best place to connect this Ground wire to? Thanks alot!!! Last edited by gdk2080; 07-02-2012 at 12:33 PM. |

Can you send a picture of how you have wired the back of the switch? I think that is more likely to be the issue. Last edited by bdl99; 07-02-2012 at 04:31 PM. |
