Default What size amp can be put in the Bose factory amp location?

Thinking ahead, I know there's some room if you remove the Bose factory amp under the shelf area behind the rear seats (under the plastic molding). How big of a space is available?

Down the road, I'm eyeing perhaps a JL HD900/5 to mount there so it's hidden completely (cooling may need to be addressed).

Is this even a possibility or a pipe dream? I know a few others have addressed this mounting location.

No problem with cooling either. Mine is mounted back there and it never gets even close to hot. The amp is awesome, no regrets.

What speakers would you recommend with that JL HD900/5? Lastly, what Kenwood HU is decent that has bluetooth and steering controls?

I would look at polk mm series for speakers on a budget if you want better speakers look at focal or image dynamics.

Outstanding - rep 4 ya. I believe your pics in the Album section was what piqued my interest on this.

Rep x2 - I'll cross this concern off my list!

cooling wont be a problem either, both my amps are mounted there, and my sub box sits on top of that, pics in the album.

Holy massive space, Batman!

Didn't see your pics before -- you can fit TWO?!? Is the Bose amp the only thing down there? That'll expand the flexibility a lot.

Hmm... maybe I'll spring for that 1000W Mono instead, and run two amps as well...

They have the amp in there, as well as the XM tuner and Bluetooth stuff, lots of room in there, once you pull out that foam peice.
