If you have the touring model and put in a head unit, does the 6 disc changer still work?

No if the 6 disk is in dash than definitely no.

Yup - there's one in the touring Bose system. I haven't used it yet.
Not sure about the OP question: if you install a head unit, the 6-disc changer is removed; it's an in-dash unit. ???

Where is the 6 disk changer? Do you lose it if you have the HDD?

Ya if you take the bose head unit out the changer is built into the stock unit. So no you could not use it.
