I am not just referring to speakers but amps, receivers, DAC, even headphones if you are me.

Converting something that is already compressed back to lossless is pointless. It tries to fill in info that was lost. When you rip a cd directly to the best format that will make sure your getting the best. But this is one of those subjects that can be argued until the cows come home. I say one thing you say another. Either way I still say the best format is either cd or loss less.

Yes, but the point I was trying to show with my example was that just because something equals X file size off the CD does not mean it is the same quality. Example, an Apple loseless file is 2.5MB and the file on the CD is 2.5MB, that does not mean it produced the same quality.

I have over 8,000 songs all from original cd's and over 770 cd's ripped. itunes is all I use.

Hmm... I have about 4x that and itunes completely chokes. I was forced to use it temporarily until people figured out the new hashing for iphone, and had to load a small subset of my library. Maybe it works better when you aren't running it on a PC or something. I also found a lot of the organizational features I was used to in media monkey lacking in itunes.

Well I have had no problems I have ran it on my 5 year old mac and a newer computer. Not a hitch. I am a itunes user for life. Just very easy to find anything you are looking for as well as make and burn playlists.

You say you are iTunes for life, but have you ever used any other software to know if something is better?

Yes I have used others. Poor file organizing and a lot of them duplicate your music and not use the originals. Plus I would rather use something that was designed to use with my computer both mac and pc plus the ipods. I know other software can do it but still itunes from what I have seen is the best. That is MY opinion and MY choice. If you want to sue something else go right ahead. My friend use to use other programs and after annoying him for 2 years to try itunes he did. 5 months later he is still using it.

My neighbor has a set of klipsch belle's OMG they are so efficient and amazing. He said he has had them for over 10 years now and use to power them with an alarm clock. I just wish he would sell them to me.

Crappy windows media player for trying to keep track of music. Illegal sharing music that expires on the other player in what 10 days or something? And who are you going to share with? What head unit actually supports control over the zune? Na Ill pass
