YOUR ARE HALF RIGHT. There is no tuning done when they install they system in a car maybe for the house. What is true and I can not keep saying it. Is that the processor mutes or fades out what freq it can not reproduce as you turn the volume up. They do this because they know there speakers and amps can not take a lot of power or else they will distort. A real system will NOT do this. I am sorry but installers just do not see them as a pain but being pointless and very stupid to even buy. They are no were near worth the money.

The Bose system works for me. I have Harmon-Kardon and Klipsch at home when I feel the need to crank it.

The beauty of the Bose 'Wavelength' design is in it's sound at lower volumes, and the amount of sound it can produce from very small speakers. I'm an old rocker, my hearing is fukd from many years of lead guitar, headphones, etc. I don't need to be riding around inside a speaker cabinet which is basically what you are doing when you drop in a powerful system into a car.

And all you iPod-wearing freaks out there, your hearing will be shot by the time you are 30.

I for one am totally against bose...

I really hope the 2011 370z comes with something else... every vehicle I have owned besides my current jeep I completly redid the sound in the car usually boston accustics or JL

but I also have brand loyalty from JL AND BOSTON and KENWOOD AND ALPINE so that could just be me being biased

But, hey, it it makes you happy knowing that, good for you.

:iagree:

i have spent allot less than that with KLIPSH and my home audio sound is killer... I would never give up on my 7.1 klipsh setup w/ harmon kardon reciever

I agree!

I would rather spend more on my home audio system than the on the Z.
Boston Acoustics (VS) with dual SVS Subs (PC13-Ultra) and Denon 7.1 AV

:iagree: Harmon-Kardon 7.1 A/V + Klipsch FTW! :iagree:

Just for :stirthepot:, my home theater rear and side speakers are Bose. Front, Center and Sub are Klipsch. The Direct-Reflecting Bose on the secondary channels bring the whole room together.

I had a pair of the 901’s many years ago and I loved them………….really kicked *ss, especially in my small dorm room. I think I suffered a little ear damage from those bad boys!

Yes, even the newer program.
I have to use it at my office to maintain office phones and it is a very slow program still. Maybe if I use it under OS X it will be quicker, which I have read reports of being true, but I have to use Windows.

"Whatever program," I hate to break it to you, but do some research on computer audio and you will learn quickly what is the best recommended software. Foobar200 and Media Monkey are the top tier, Foobar200 for its complex but unlimited resources in fine tuning your music, Media Monkey is the best catalog storage of your music if you have a large library.

Also, how can you talk about audio quality and iTunes in the same topic? Apple loseless is an "ok format" for digital audio in a loseless form and iTunes/Ipods do not support WMA loseless or WAV or even FLAC which are the top tier digital audio codecs.

Lossless as far as I have read and seen and heard is the best format and an exactly replica of the original cd. The same goes for FLAC. When you copy a cd in lossless than look at the memory used compared to the cd it is exactly the same.

theDreamer 12-03-2009 01:02 PM

It might take up the same amount of space, but so does when I convert an 128 file to loseless. It does not mean it is the same quality, now for the average person FLAC v. Apple loseless will be the same. Differences will be noticed at the highs & lows when you enter into high end equipment. I am not just referring to speakers but amps, receivers, DAC, even headphones if you are me.

Media monkey wtfpwns itunes as far as managing and organizing large library's of music. Anyone who says different obviously doesn't know what media monkey is or doesn't have a large library of music.
