Why can you not use the XM antenna that is stock in the car? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just seems that i have xm now why can

Sorry if this is a dumb question, just seems that i have xm now why can i not use what is already installed rather than addeing another antenna. For that matter why can we not use the installed factory mic for bluetooth? Just things I have thought about and never really seen answered. Thanks and sorry again if this is a stupid question.
