Top brands?

I really like JL audio. But are these decent brands or cheap brands? what are some top tier brands for audio? my friend tells me rockford fosgate is one of the best... is that true? ty guys!!

word, not saying that car audio doesn't matter, but if you are concerned about what people are gonna think of your car, a lot more people see your wheels than your audio system. its like wearing clothes from sears and then wearing designer underwear. not condoning buying hings based on what other people will think, but if thats you're concern, a lot more people are outside your car than in your car, and will therefore be more likely to notice your wheels than your speakers.
