Default Menu System on the Head Unit

Hey guys... not sure if this is the same as other places other than Australia, but i noticed that i can use the up/down button on the steering wheel for most menus on my head unit screen, however the other night i went to make a call so i press the phone button on the steering wheel, then scroll down to Phone Book, then push the button in to select it, up comes all my numbers i have entered, but then when i hit the down button the menu doesn't scroll down!! WTF!...

you then have to touch the screen and chose a recepient to dial! Didn't nissan test this??

I'm guessing you were moving faster than say... ~5km/h? I Think it is a 'safety' feature designed to stop you getting distracted by the GPS etc. while you're driving.
