Sub and Amp setup for $500, suggestions?

I have always had very good luck with Punch amps. I have an old "gernade" style Punch 200 that has always taken good care of me. I agree, for me

I agree, for me it took a while to get ofer the stigma that subs had to be run two or more. But I am not into the huge bass anymore, much more into sound quality, and believe a single 10" or 12" will suffice in a small car like a Z.

Personally, I would take the money saved buying one sub and put towards a better amp.

Good luck, let us know what you decide.

*EDIT* Are the Punch amps 1 ohm stable? I think I always ran mine at 2 ohm.

Rule of thumb is: Good amps make poor speakers sound good and good speakers even better!

Poor speakers just sound bad and do not last very long.

This is just for the Amp and Sub/Subs....

Open to suggestions, remember we are working with a total of $500 for the "mono" amp, and 2 x 10" subs only.

Well I'm gonna start looking for a good deal on these then.

P700-1BD - Rockford Fosgate 700 Watt Punch Series Amplifier
P3D212 - Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 3 12" Dual 2-Ohm Subwoofer

SonicElectonix or WoofersEtc, unless someone else knows a good vendor.

Might be worth including amazon in your options for your pricing search.
