Default DVD/Display or Parking sensor?

It's weird to have a car that doesnt equip the parking sensor these day.

Since we do not have Navigation system in the HK (RHD) models, the Navi are replaced by a central compartment for storage. I'm wondering if I should install the parking sensor or install DVD/display unit with rear cam?

Any advise?

Geeka
Just placed deposite for the 10' 370z, hopefully I could get my new car in June.

DVD display with rear cam. It'll give you more satisfaction. Looking at the rear via screen > hearing beeps.

Thanks, AK370z.

Do you have any suggestion on the display unit? and does it fits perfectly on this central compartment?

You would have to install one custom in the pocket or you can install a new head unit or you can get a new rear view mirror that ha a screen built in. There are plenty of options.

Default My next question...

Thanks for the replies above.
I never change my head unit for my previous cars.

My next question is...

Do the audio control buttons on the steering wheel work on those after market audio head unit?

(I'm gonna get my z next week!)

hey geeka- i have a pioneer DVD deck in mine and running a rearview camera. it's pretty cool. if you get the kenwood i think you also get the proximity lines.

as for the steering wheel controls yes it does work, if the HU offers a hardwired remote input. im using a perpheral (like PAC) in mine... but ck out this thread. if im doing another HU im going to use this metra control module.
Harness ...?

Default thank you for your advises!

I just picked up my 370z today! I'm soooooooo excited about it!

Well, as many other forum members mentioned before, it's very noisy! but i still love it. It's fun to drive, and it's easy to drive!

The salesman told me the car is so short that I shouldn't need neither a parking sensor or backup cam. Well, I think it's more safety to have one. I'm thinking to get a Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD, for an unknown reason it's called P4250DVD here. Now I need to order the Metra dash kit and the harness.

Do you have any idea what is that "External unit control via IP-Bus (2 units)" mentioned on the spec page?

Also, could you point me to a web site that offer that "metra control module" you mentioned, please?

Once again, thank you!

Cheers,

Geeka
