Also, did you swap that out with the factory base unit or the Bose Touring unit and what other audio options do you have in the car? The sound on the YouTube video is quite good even if it ain't Nickelback playing. :)

In Canada we don't get an option for stereos. All 370Z are the touring model here. So, assuming that the OP bought his car from Canada, since he lives in Ottawa, I would say that he swapped it out with the Bose Touring unit.

I just had a Pioneer Z120BT installed with the Bose touring package and the sound is substantially better. That might be because the DNX9960 and the Z120BT come with EQs (the Kenwood has more settings though I think). My only issue is there is constant annoying hissing which should be fixed with either the Metra harness for premium Nissan factory stereos (http://www.metraonline.com/products.aspx?s=70-%207551) or installer wizardry. This might be an isolated issue with me as I haven't read about anyone else having this issue. Then again I haven't read about anyone else putting in a Z120BT in their car.

Hey,

Nice install. I did not use the metra kit so there is a slight gap around my HU.. I cant decide if I want to use the metra or not I have it sitting just not sure..

anyways where did you install the voice activation switch ? Heres what I am thinking so far...

I want to swap the hazard light SW to the right side where the dummy switch is ... ( the location of the sports switch in the sports model) and move that switch to the left so its easily reachable....

So after that I want to put the voice activation switch for the NAV under it...and still use the factory silver round switch for it.

I was thinking somehow to put a spring between the round silver factory switch and the NAV's voice activation switch with the Voice Activation switch under the silver round switch.

very nice location of the PTT button, and mic. My mic is currently working ok, if I run into issues I will consider relocating it. I still want to do the PTT button in the dummy silver circle bye the hazard light. ....

Do you need to buy the Aftermarket radio face plate to instal the Kenwood DNX9960? Thanks

^^^ I think it depends on what you have now - I have the base with sports package and think the DNX9960 will just drop right in very well. If you got the Touring edition with the upgraded audio then you might need the dash kit. I'll be doing my install in the next few weeks so I can tell you definitively but I'm sure someone else will chime in that has actually installed it already and give you the answer.

I have the BOSE radio so definitely will buy the aftermarket radio face plate.... BTW is it possible for u guys to suggest me some websites where i can get the DNX9960 shipped internationally? I googled it out and found various places... i dont know if i can trust these vendors cause the price range is not constant...

Saw some in ebay selling in the range of $1150 - $1300,
Saw at Wicked CAS selling at $1899,
Amazon $1299

What's the actual market price for this item?

Talk to Nazar from wicked CAS... He gave me a good deal. 1400 - 150 MIR

so final cost 1250.

Plus he is an Authorized Kenwood Dealer so no worries about any warranty if you have issues. :)
